Welcome to Burg Beag

A traditional Scottish stone built cottage which was renovated in 1971/72.

Optimally sleeps 4 although equipped for 6.

Ideal base for a relaxing family holiday and we welcome well behaved dogs.

Location.

Burg Beag is situated on the North West coast of Loch Tuath.
Views are across the Loch to the Islands of Ulva, Gometra and The Treshnish Isles to the west. Staffa can be seen round the headland of Gometra from a short distance up the road. To the south east is Ben More and the spectacular cliffs of Gribun.

The cottage is situated on a quiet road and a short distance from the shore. It is equidistant from the big sandy beaches of Calgary and Kilninian, both ideal for small children and easily accessible.

There are several prehistoric remains nearby notably Dun Aisgain a bronze age broch. There are also the remains of illicit stills in caves on the shore and the ruins of black houses from the old settlement of Burg.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and rich in wildlife. Red deer, red throated divers, otters, golden and sea eagles all live and breed in the vicinity.
